DIRECTX 8.0跟9.0到底有什麼差別呢？

DIRECTX 9.0 比 8.0 增加了下面功能：
1. Pixel Shader：圖元著色引擎和頂點著色引擎合併成一個引擎，使用一個運算單元以降低製造成本。
2. Displacement Mapping：置換式貼圖，主要用處是通過改變物體的凹凸貼圖，來改變表面的視覺效果。
3. Gamma 修正：Gamma修正可讓研發者提升視覺感受，並獲得更好的材質光影效果。
4. Full Scene/Screen Anti-aliasing：全景/螢幕抗鋸齒。
5. Non Uniform Relational B Splines：非統一相關式樣條，能夠在有限的帶寬內，進行更多的3D運算，從而使得畫面更加流暢。
6. Scissor Planes：剪裁平面，供給複雜應用程式使用，在硬體支援圖元矩形修剪的前提下，把物體放在有限區域中，裁掉看不到的部分。

音頻方面 DirectX9.0 加入了DirectMP3和DirectCD兩項新的功能。
DirectMP3：支援 MP3 檔或者音頻流的直接調用和解碼重播，無需通過 Windows API 介面調用專門的 MP3 播放程式。
DirectCD：支援 CD 音頻在各種需要的情況下直接調用和進行混音重播，無需通過 Windows API 介面，DirectCD 將使 CD 音頻和 Directx9 及其調用程式更好地結合在一起。

Execute dx90b_redist.exe, accept the EULA, then choose to extract to this folder:
C:\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\install\Directx9b\

You can also delete the following files BDA, BDANT, and DirectX to free up 16MB of space. This has been tested and works in Windows XP SP1. It should look like this:



Microsoft have disabled the silent install option in DirectX 9.0 in order for End Users to agree to the EULA (but you read it already when you extracted the file!) so we have provided you with a hex-edited dxsetup.exe to allow the silent install switches. If you wish to do this yourself then open dxsetup.exe in a hex editor and go to offset 0x33e2 and change 74 to EB.

Extract the file and copy it over on top of your existing dxsetup.exe file, choose yes when prompted to replace.

Add the following commands to your existing batch file:

ECHO Installing DirectX 9.0b
ECHO Please wait...
start /wait %systemdrive%\install\DirectX9b\dxsetup.exe /opk

You can also use /windowsupdate instead of /opk if you want to watch the installation progress.
