The Built-in Transfer Queue
The built-in transfer queue gives a nice and easy overview of the articles you have queued for downloading. A progressbar in the queue shows the articles you are currently downloading. The bot window at the bottom of the window also shows the current NewsLeecher activity.


The Server Manager & The Favorite Group Manager
The server and group managers makes it easy to add new usenet servers to your server list and a snap to add or edit your favorite newsgroups. Also note that the managers gives you a lot of info about your servers and favorite groups. For example the current server transfer speed, how many new articles there are in your favorite groups, etc..


Easy to Setup a New Usenet Server
Setting up a new usenet server is NewsLeecher it quite simple. And that's even though there are some pretty advanced server features available. You can for example setup a server to work as a 'Fills-Only' server. A very good feature if the server has a download limit.

不知道以前有沒有人發過這個，呵呵
前幾天看到0-day裡面有個小軟體叫NewsLeecher就down下來玩玩。。
這是theisonews裡面的人所謂的比用得下載軟體
剛開始我還不知道怎麼用，因為他要求輸入download的server之類的
大多數的usenet server都是收費的 ，每月15-25美元，嚇嚇人
不過也有一些免費的,一般的ISP都會有自己的，例如加拿大的Rogers
而且rogers的server是由Giganews.com,最貴usenet service hosted..
所以品質相當的好
不過應該只適用於rogers的使用者
但如果想試試看得人，可以上自己的ISP網站上面看看有沒有

03。12的0day裡面有

首先要增加一個server,在usenet manager,裡麵點擊new server,然後添入server address，例如 nntp.broadband.rogers.com(這個是我cable供應商的，不是rogers的用戶不能用) , port 就是119，沒有必要更改, server nickname 隨便起個名字就好，connections 是指下載執行緒，因為newsgroup下載非常快，所以我推薦用單執行緒防止crc error

然後點確定,現在應該會連到newsgroup server 上了，狀態顯示 "Idle & ready for action" =======注意: server address一定不能填錯，而且後面不能有沒用的空格

接下來，在右邊的視窗裡選 all groups 那一項，然後點fetch group list, 等下載完了,就可以subscribe 到你需要的group裡面了，要善用那個name filter,因為group很多(90k)，這裡我推薦的就是alt.binaries.warez.ibm-pc.0day這個group, 選之後點subscribe

subscribe完了後，點subscribed group, 這樣你就能看到你所有加入的group了，然後右建點擊那個group選update group, 這個是讓你download現在group裡面所有的東西的目錄，每天都要update才能看到最新的東西

我推薦的這個group有每天最新的0day util, 還有其他的group 可以下載別的，我就不介紹了。

update完了以後，選active group, 然後就能看到一個文件目錄一樣的東西,這裡你可以搜尋你所要download的東西, 找到後右建選leech 就好了

先解釋介麼多。。。

只是一個 alternative 而已


Newsgroup都是同一個連接多個servers. 我的ISP(Shaw)有好幾個newsgroup server, 一下可以連接5~6個, 總速度一般達到600~700KB/S. newsgroup下載可以不用關CRC Error問題, 因為大部分newsgroup都有par文件, 可以直接修復rar文件
