if resize them into tiny little jpg files before launching
Click Start, Run and type regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
Restart Windows for the changes to take effect

that you can use to check your file system.

Clearing the Temporary Internet Files cache
To clear the Temporary Internet files cache
follow these steps:
Start Internet Explorer
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options
Click the General tab
Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files
When you are prompted to delete the files, click OK
