「早在五○年代初期，當瓦拉那西的學者們第一次聽到克裡希那穆提的教誨時，佛家學者認為克裡希那穆提講的是正宗的佛法，吠檀多學者認為他說的是吠檀多哲學。

　　後來，佛家學者優帕迪雅吉又覺得，克裡希那穆提的話更像龍樹中觀。一段時期過後，他甚至覺得如果龍樹今天還活著，他要講的話就是克裡希那穆提的話。

　　克自己則認為，他雖演講無數，書也出版了不少，但是他的教誨不是這些書。他說：『我只教了一件事，那就是觀察你自己，深入探索你自己，然後加以超越。你不是去了解克的教誨，你只是在了解自己罷了。克的話語指出了一條路，那就是認識你自己。』
