Business Continuity Management: Swine Flu Update (WHO Phase 4 Status)


Early this morning, the World Health Organisation (WHO) changed its pandemic threat level from Phase 3 to Phase 4. This status means that there are community level outbreaks of the circulating swine flu virus. To date, confirmed human cases have been identified in Spain, Mexico, United States and Canada. This list of affected countries may change over time.

While overall risk levels remains low, prudent precautionary measures are being followed. As a consequence of the Phase 4 declaration, staff traveling to affected countries are requested to defer non-essential travel until further notice. Essential travel is still permitted and approval processes have been implemented through the travel booking process. If you have existing travel bookings to affected countries, please defer from traveling at this time.
