How do I resolve InstallShield error 1607 or 1608 when installing Mathematica?

These problems are caused by an improperly installed version of the Windows Installer. Both problems have the same resolution.
由這安裝 目錄路逕找到ISScript8.msi,先
Navigate to the folder \PC__8_3\FILES\INSTFILE\ on the installation CD-ROM.
執行"ISScript8.msi檔昇級你windows install版本
Execute the file "ISScript8.msi" in that folder. This will update your installation of the Windows installer.
Execute the file "Setup.exe" in the same folder to install Mathematica.
